Hello ,
Boilermaker by training, I started to practice the art of cutlery a few years ago.
A piece of wood, a piece of scrap metal, an old file, my barbecue and the magic happened!
Since then, I haven't stopped forging.
Over time, I perfected myself, doing various internships, a lot of readings and videos on You Tube.
These media have nourished me and made me want to be part of this world represented by the work of the material.

Prepare for a duel of steel and sweat! In this Challenge Forged in Fire episode, our talented blacksmith, BOULDERDASHFORGE, takes on a titanic challenge: forging a machete in just 5 hours!
3 hours for the blade, 2 hours for the handle. Time is running out, the pressure is palpable, but BOULDERDASHFORGE is determined to take on this challenge.
Follow every step of its creation: from the careful choice of steel to the precise strike of the hammer, including the incandescent tempering of the blade.
The suspense builds when BOULDERDASHFORGE presents his machete to the fencing master, Sousou. Tension is at its peak as Sousou puts the blade to the test on a deer antler.
A crack sounds! The blade breaks cleanly, leaving BOULDERDASHFORGE destroyed and Sousou stunned.
Despite the disappointment, BOULDERDASHFORGE keeps his head held high. He knows that this failure is a valuable lesson. This unusual challenge allowed him to push his limits and learn new techniques.

Why were you censor the welding arc? We are watching using electronic device which simply could not produce the same brightness as the arc and the screen only produce safe spectrum of light.

I let myself be overcome by stress and at 4.25 minutes I hammered the steel even though it was not hot enough which created micro cracks and at the time of the crash test the blow was dealt to this one which immediately breaks the blade. Bearing steel is a good steel but it is very capricious when worked...
At the end of the day you worked like a beast and turned out a beautiful piece, kudos to you for that.

La fabrication d'une lame en seulement cinq heures représente un véritable défi et demande une concentration exceptionnelle. Même si la lame s'est brisée lors du test final, cet échec n'enlève rien à la qualité du travail fourni. Merci beaucoup pour ton commentaire, il est vrai qu'avec Sousou on n'a souhaité montrer l'intégralité de ce challenge car les échecs font partie du métier et me donne juste une envie : de persévérer. C'était une première pour moi et c'est vrai que dans la première partie je me suis laissé prendre au jeu la tension était palpable et j'ai juste fait l'erreur de taper 2 fois au marteau alors que l'acier avait refroidi. Encore merci. Affaire à suivre...
